Hey Davisville and Spectrum families,
In the week that was to be our March break…..
Davisville students participated in a variety of spirit day activities, including Inside Out Day, Cookie Day, PJ day and more. Spectrum students had a Cookie Day. It was a great deal of fun. We were very happy the weather cooperated!!
As the weather gets warmer, we are encouraging classes to take place outside as much as possible. Staff will work together to coordinate outdoor visits. Students are enjoying their Zone bins during recesses. During lunch today we started playing some outdoor games of old! Red Light, Green Light was a favourite. Students will be learning more games like this in physical education class as well. It’s hard to be outside without playground equipment. We get it! If you have any great games kids can play while wearing masks and maintaining distance, please feel free to share with us.
Thank you for continuing to remind your child to wear their mask and staying socially distanced. It’s hard for all of us, but it is helping keep us safe. This is not only true at school but also on the bus.
Kindergarten registration for September 2021 is still open. Please visit the website for further information.
This year to honour International Day for the Elimination of Racism on March 21, the United Nations has chosen its theme, “Youth Standing Up Against Racism” using the hashtag, #FightRacism, which aims to foster a global culture of anti discrimination and calls on each and every one of us to stand up against racial injustice. Toronto District School Board commits to standing up against discrimination and acts of racism in all of its forms. Anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Asian racism, antisemitism and xenophobia, whenever and wherever they occur. Now more than ever, we need to work together, to build a more just and inclusive world for all of us.
Please see some photos of the week.
