Ward 8 Virtual Forum - March 2nd - What Does Hate Look Like?
Source: Weekly Update, Shelley Laskin, Trustee

Parents/Caregivers, Students, Community Members and School Staff are invited to join Trustee Shelley Laskin and Ward 8 Superintendents for a Virtual Ward Forum!

Corinne Promislow, principal of King Edward PS, and Sameea Jimenez, resource teacher at Dr. Rita Cox-Kina Minagok PS will join us at our next Ward Forum to discuss their new book "What Does Hate Look Like" and how it can be used in and out of the classroom. This book, published by Second Story Press, gives readers a glimpse into the lives of students who have experienced hate in their lives. Real kids from real classrooms share their stories in this book to help us see the bias, prejudice, violence, discrimination and exclusion around us – what hate looks like to them. Why? So we can stand up against hate and never be the cause of it. And to show us how to cope and get support if we have been hurt. By sharing stories, we all become stronger. Our schools, neighbourhoods and communities become safer, and more kind, and hate doesn't win.

The meeting will be hosted on the Zoom video conference platform. Registrants will be sent a meeting invite with a link and call in details for the session.

Please contact Shelley.Laskin@tdsb.on.ca if you have any questions.
